Down the Rabbit Hole to Disney – First Post!

Down the Rabbit Hole to Disney

What started as an impromptu trip in June 2012 my daughter and I took, flourished into a yearly event!
This is my daughter’s brainchild, to do a ‘blog’ of our Disney Adventures. Since 2012, we became DVC members and annual pass-holders. Our yearly trips turned into more than once a year! We started pin collecting and trading and interested in sharing our food and resort opinions and also our Character interactions.
Join us as this borderline obsession keeps mom and teenage daughter duo close, especially during these teenage years! We set up all social media, including Instagram, YouTube, WordPress and Twitter. Follow us on all Social Media as we start to prepare for our next Adventure.

Cinderella's Castle at night! Cinderella’s Castle at night!

Countdown for next Disney Adventure!

Down the Rabbit Hole to Disney

My daughter has been very busy with all of the end of year school activities, including graduation, class trip to Hershey and her end of year speech (as Class President).  So the new blog and other social medias have taken a backseat.  But I did realize in less than two weeks our first adventure will begin!

I know there’s a post waiting about how to get ready for your next trip, including packing and other tips.  So please look for that one coming soon!

Have a magical day!

Pope Francis’ suggested New Year’s resolutions

I like these thoughts 🙂

CNS Blog

(CNS/Paul Haring) (CNS/Paul Haring)

VATICAN CITY — When Pope Francis met before Christmas with Vatican employees, mostly lay people with families, he asked them to do 10 things. The list sounded remarkably like suggestions for New Year’s resolutions:

— “Take care of your spiritual life, your relationship with God, because this is the backbone of everything we do and everything we are.”

— “Take care of your family life, giving your children and loved ones not just money, but most of all your time, attention and love.”

— “Take care of your relationships with others, transforming your faith into life and your words into good works, especially on behalf of the needy.”

— “Be careful how you speak, purify your tongue of offensive words, vulgarity and worldly decadence.”

— “Heal wounds of the heart with the oil of forgiveness, forgiving those who have hurt us and medicating the wounds we have caused…

The Obituary Doesn’t Tell The Whole Story

beautiful tribute

CocoaNut

My mom died two days ago. Reading her obituary, people will know that she has three daughters and was married to my father who predeceased her and that she was born in Ukraine etc.

But it doesn’t tell anyone who she was.

First of all, my mother was a saint. Truly. If you met my mom and she told you that her children were conceived by immaculate conception, you would believe her. That’s how she came off.

She spent many years doing clerical and secretarial work for a few different insurance companies. The women at work would tease her because of her “gosh darns.” One day she actually cursed – a real four-letter word – and everyone in her office stood up and applauded.

And anyone who knew her would vie for a coveted invitation over for dinner. Mom was the best cook. And I’m not just saying that. Ask…

It’s My Wonderful Life

Great read and follow!

CocoaNut

This year has been a good year.

Everything was falling into place.

— The girl and I took a nice mother-daughter trip to Walt Disney World.

— The hubby, the boy, the girl and I took a wonderful family vacation to Hawaii (and, yes, I did climb to the top of Diamond Head – not a huge feat for most people, but for an exercise-hater like me, that was huge).

— The boy and I, along with my niece and nephew went on a cruise to the Bahamas. (They hung out together – I made friends.)

— I had the opportunity to work with both the girl and the boy when they both did separate stints in my office. (Of course, they made me pay for lunch.)

— The hubby and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. (That’s a long time!)

— The girl got an amazing internship out in…
